This through truss bridge is alike a couple other in the region. Nationally, the Quadrangular Through Truss is rather uncommon. However, the design was popular in the upper midwest due to the Chicago & North Western as well as the Rock Island.
This bridge is identical to the Spalding Rail Bridge and the Stephenson Rail Bridge.
The bridge contains heavily riveted connections, and a large A-Frame portal. These distinct features are common of later editions of this design (ca. 1915).
The bridge rests on massive concrete substructures, and has a missing Wisconsin Bridge & Iron Company plate.
The photo above is an overview. The bridge has been rated as moderately significant due to the uncommon nature of the truss, but the otherwise newer build date.
